LOVE AT THE END OF THE WORLD

Short Film

13 minutes

How can someone who has experienced war communicate with someone who has not?

Returning home from peace-keeping duties, Paul can't reconnect with fiancé Anna who has no experience of violence. Anna brings Paul to the beach to lift his spirits. There she meets loner Karl, who takes advantage of Anna but instinctively saves Paul. In making this film, I was questioning how violence or loss enables growth or connection with others. In LOVE AT THE END OF THE WORLD, it’s a fine line between growth and degeneration.

Self-funded.

Written, directed and produced by Oonagh Kearney for Tyrella Pictures, 2009.
